Melissa King is the current Policy Board Member, joining us from the Epsilon Chapter of the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration (Accounting and Management) along with a Certificate in Leadership and Ethics.

In the Fall of 2006, she pledged Phi Chi Theta and was elected Assistant Pledge Educator for the following two semesters. In this position, she was able to start and organize the chapter’s "Brother/Sister Hunt,” which is a group of team building activities held the weekend before each Initiation Ceremony. After serving this role, Melissa was elected President of the Epsilon Chapter for the next two years. During her presidency, the chapter was able to network with numerous large and small companies within the Pittsburgh area and beyond. She also worked closely with her Executive Team to strategically plan the growth and direction of the chapter. After her service as President, Melissa served as the Social Chair during her last semester at the University of Pittsburgh. Melissa was the 2009 recipient of the Irene M. Meyer Memorial Scholarship for her dedication to Phi Chi Theta. Her national service to the Fraternity prior to serving as Policy Board Member includes Eastern Regional Director from 2010-2014 and National Vice President of Internal Affairs from 2014-2018.

Melissa resides in Pittsburgh, PA and began working at Navy Nuclear Laboratory in 2018. She previously worked at Westinghouse Electric Company as a Senior Project Planner. She is also a member of Women in Nuclear and participates in service and social projects within that organization by serving as the Co-Activities Chair for her chapter.
