Gary joined the Epsilon Beta Chapter at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA in the Fall of 1990. He was elected president of his chapter in the Spring of 1991. He remained in that office until his graduation in the Spring of 1993. For his work with the Epsilon Beta Chapter, Gary was awarded the National Key Award for excellence and service to the chapter. He graduated with honors with a BS in management.
Upon graduating he was instrumental in establishing the Philadelphia Alumni Chapter. The chapter was installed in the Summer of 1993. He was the founding president and has continued to serve in that capacity to this day.
On a National level, Gary has served on the National Scholarship Committee from August, 1995 to August, 2000. He served as the Eastern Regional Director from August, 2000 to August, 2002. He served as the National Vice President of Expansion from August, 2002 until March, 2004. During his time in this office, he was instrumental in installing 4 new chapters. In March, 2004, Gary was elected to the position of National Vice President of Collegiate Affairs during a special election. He served in that position until August, 2004. He served as Chairman of the Executive Policy Board from August,
2004 until August, 2008. At the 2008 National Chapter Meting, Gary was elected National President and received the Naomi L. Satterfield Alumni Achievement Award. He was re-elected as National President at the 2010, 2012, and 2014 National Chapter Meetings and continues to serve in that capacity.
Gary is a Program Analyst with the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). He works with VA’s pension and survivor benefit programs.
Gary lives in Philadelphia, PA with his wife Loretta who is an Honorary Member of Phi Chi Theta. They have 3 sons, 17 year old Gary Jr., 15 year old Ryan, and 10 year old Jacob. Gary and his family are very involved in the Boys Scouts of America. Gary serves as an assistant scoutmaster for his sons’ troop and as his district’s commissioner. He has also served on several district and council committees.
