Katie Griffin is the Vice President of Expansion and a Life Member of Phi Chi Theta. Katie joined Phi Chi Theta in 1992 as a member of the Beta Nu Chapter at Midwestern State University. Later she transferred to the Alpha Nu Chapter at the University of North Texas where she held the position of president. Katie also held the position of National Bylaws Chairman from 2008-2012. Katie is the 2012 recipient of the Naomi Satterfield Alumni Achievement Award. Katie received her Masters of Public Administration from the University of North Texas in 2010 and her Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997 from the University of North Texas.
Katie is a Certified Government Finance Officer and is the Director of Finance for the City of Rockport, Texas. Previously, she served as the Director of Finance for the Cities of Bee Cave and Portland. She was also the first Finance Director for the City of Sanger, and prior to that the Budget Analyst for the City of Denton. She has been working in government finance since 2004.
Katie’s professional achievements include Certified Government Finance Officer, member of Government Finance Officers’ Association, member of Government Finance Officers’ Association of Texas, member University of North Texas Alumni Association, member of Masters of Public Administration Alumni Association, and supportive member of the Public Administration Student Association.
Civic Achievements include organizing different community service events over the years for the Dallas Alums. Katie is married to Sean Eric Griffin and has two children, Karlie and Christopher. Katie enjoys traveling, cooking, scrapbooking, and Texas Rangers baseball.
