Katie Griffin is the Vice President of Expansion and a Life Member of Phi Chi Theta.  She is also the President of the Dallas Alumni Chapter, a position which she has held since 2008.  Katie joined Phi Chi Theta in 1992 as a member of the Beta Nu Chapter at Midwestern State University.  Later she transferred to the Alpha Nu Chapter at the University of North Texas where she held the position of president.  Katie also held the position of National Bylaws Chairman from 2008-2012. 

Katie is the 2012 recipient of the Naomi Satterfield Alumni Achievement Award. 

Katie received her Masters of Public Administration from the University of North Texas in 2010 and her Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997 from the University of North Texas.

Katie is a Certified Government Finance Officer and is the Director of Finance for the City of Bee Cave, Texas.  Previously, she was the first Finance Director for the City of Sanger, and prior to that the Budget Analyst for the City of Denton.  She has been working in government finance since 2004. 

Katie’s professional achievements include Certified Government Finance Officer, member of Government Finance Officers’ Association, member of Government Finance Officers’ Association of Texas, member University of North Texas Alumni Association, member of Masters of Public Administration Alumni Association, and supportive member of the Public Administration Student Association.

Civic Achievements include organizing different community service events over the years for the Dallas Alums. These include an annual Christmas visit to a Denton nursing center to decorate their Christmas tree, Ronald McDonald House, collecting donation items for Friends of the Family (this organization provides food, clothing, household items, etc. for families in need), North Texas Food Bank, the Lupus Walk and USO (Greet the Troops) at DFW Airport.

Katie is currently a committee member for the Grandview Hills Elementary School Site Based Community Action Group and a member of the Parent Teachers Association.  For the City of Sanger, Katie was involved with Toys for Tots. She served on the Sanger Community Services Organization to identify and assist low income families for financial assistance for utilities and she assisted the Sanger Chamber of Commerce with various community activities including the Sanger Selebration.

Katie is married to Sean Eric Griffin and has two children, Karlie and Christopher.  They reside in Austin, Texas.  Katie enjoys traveling, cooking, scrapbooking, and Texas Rangers baseball.
