Josh Gabbard has proudly been involved with Phi Chi Theta since the Spring of 2011 when he was initiated into the Beta Theta Chapter at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. During his three years of collegiate membership with Beta Theta, he held various positions including Fundraising Committee Chair, Executive Vice President and President. During his time in these elected positions, Josh’s proudest accomplishment was establishing a strong alumni network for the Beta Theta Chapter. He also assisted in planning & hosting Beta Theta’s 50th Anniversary Gala in April 2013 as Executive Vice President. Josh was the recipient of the Anna E. Hall Memorial Scholarship in 2012 & the Kay Durden Memorial Scholarship in 2014 from the Phi Chi Theta Educational Foundation.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting from Sam Houston State, Josh is now a Senior in Ernst & Young’s Houston Assurance practice. His primary clients include those in the Health Care & Renewable energy industries. He is currently in the process of obtaining his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification.
When Josh is not working or studying for his CPA, he can be found playing tennis in various leagues around Houston or out with a group of friends. He also enjoys reading mystery novels, especially the Alex Cross series from James Patterson. Josh is proud to be a Life Member with the Houston Alumni Chapter.
