Corporate Giving

There are several ways for companies and employers to support the Foundation; including Employer Matching and Volunteer Service Grants, Payroll Deductions, and Corporate Sponsorship.

Employer Matching Funds/Volunteer Service Grants
Many companies have demonstrated their support to Phi Chi Theta by matching, or even multiplying, their employees’ gifts to the Foundation. Some companies are committed to providing support to organizations where staff members are actively and substantially engaged as volunteers. Companies that have supported the Foundation through matching gift programs include Booz Allen Hamilton, State Farm Foundation, PepsiCo Foundation, AIG, and First Tennessee Bank.

Ask whether your employer participates in such a program. Certain restrictions apply to matching gifts; please consult your company’s personnel office for further information.

Payroll Deductions
Many companies allow their employees to designate payroll deductions to their favorite charities. Through a simple payroll deduction, you can designate an amount to be deducted from each paycheck and have it donated to the Foundation. Please consult with your company’s personnel office for further information.

Corporate Sponsorship
The Foundation awards grants annually to Phi Chi Theta for use in sponsoring educational and leadership programs at the National Chapter Meeting or Regional Conferences.  We are looking for corporations that would be willing to make a financial investment to be a sponsor for the Scholarship Award Luncheon and Educational Seminars that the Foundation will be sponsoring at the National Chapter Meeting. Through your active sponsorship your company will obtain visibility and access to our diverse and professional membership base.

Additional sponsorship opportunities include having a “Phi Chi Theta Day” or an event where a percentage of gross receipts from the sales of food, merchandise, services, etc. is donated to the Foundation. Many service industry type companies (e.g., cruise lines, restaurants, ice cream shops) are willing to designate a day/time where they will donate a percentage of their receipts to non-profit organizations.

individual
donations

Over 85% of the donations we receive each year come from individuals like yourself – collegiates, alums, Life Members, and friends and family that believe in and generously support the Foundation’s programs that promote the cause of higher business education and training for all.  Help us continue providing quality educational and scholarship programs by making a tax-deductible donation today.

Donating Stocks and Securities

A gift of stock or closely held securities can benefit you and the Foundation. Here’s how:
Income tax deduction for the donor for the charitable contribution No capital gains tax on the appreciation in value The Foundation receives the proceeds of the redeemed stock or securities immediately.

Product
Donations

Every year, individuals and corporations donate products, professional services, and/or non-monetary contribution in support of the Foundation’s educational and scholarship programs. These “like-kind” gifts allow the Foundation to minimize overhead and administrative costs associated with our programs.

The Foundation traditionally has a raffle at the National Chapter meetings.  The Trustees of the Foundation have been able to generate exciting products that the collegiates and alums members can take a chance on winning a raffle item.  The funds generated from this event are deposited in the scholarship fund.

Estate Planning

As part of your estate planning, you can have an impact on future generations of Phi Chi Theta’s by making a planned gift/bequests to the Foundation. There are many different ways to support the Foundation with your future gift; including cash or percentage of estate, stocks/securities, annuities, life insurance policies, and trusts to name a few. Tangible benefits gained from your planned gift to the Foundation include immediate tax benefits, as well as savings on taxes owed by your estate. The real reward of your giving will be in the knowledge that your planned gift will create programs that will provide for future generations of international leaders and business professionals.

Establishing an Endowment

A gift that establishes an endowment demonstrates your commitment to the Foundation and Phi Chi Theta Fraternity. An endowment is a fund that is maintained in perpetuity. Endowments are designated for a particular purpose/objective that is identified by you, the donor. Your gift could be designated to support such initiatives as scholarships, leadership seminars, internship opportunities, or even operational support for the Foundation. A portion of the annual investment return is used for funding the initiative or program that the endowment has been established to support. Such endowments, which typically bear the name of the donor or donors, reflect your interests and serve as an enduring testament to your generosity. <BR>

Currently, the Foundation has an endowment that funds the Naomi L. Satterfield Memorial Scholarship that is awarded annually to members that exemplify the qualities of leadership and commitment to Phi Chi Theta.

Chapter Fundraisers

Collegiate and alumni chapters are encouraged to sponsor a fundraising event where all or a portion of the proceeds from the event is donated to the Foundation. By sponsoring such an activity, this completes the full circle and solidifies the relationship between Phi Chi Theta Fraternity and the Foundation. By making a donation, the Foundation is able to continue supporting and sponsoring programs and initiatives that will benefit the members of Phi Chi Theta today and future generations.
