INFORMATION FOR THE PHI CHI THETA NATIONAL MENTORING PROGRAM

Join our National Mentoring Program! The program follows a weekly schedule beginning with a match introduction and prompts to help you get started. Each week a new email will be sent to help guide discussions. Mentors and mentees need to plan to interact weekly for the duration of the program. Some topics included are goal development, career preparation, and transitioning to a workplace environment.

The Mentoring Program provides alumni with the opportunity to stay involved in PCT and share their experiences. Through the program’s themed, regular discussions, alumni can reflect on their experiences and share them with active members. These actions keep alumni involved with current PCT actives and provide a rewarding outlet outside of their normal working environment.

The Mentoring Program provides active members with the opportunity to expand their professional skill set, explore prospective industries, and personally connect with a PCT Alumnus. Over the course of the Mentoring relationship, active members will learn about a variety of industries through their mentors’ insights and experiences. Additionally, active members will be more prepared for their careers by participating in guided discussions, resume critiques and mock interviews.

PLEASE NOTE: If you cannot commit to the time requirement, please consider signing up in the future when your schedule allows for full participation.

STOCK MARKET COMPETITIONS

We are very excited to launch our stock market competition game for the Fall 2024 semester! We encourage as many chapters to participate as possible. Please see below for details of the competition.

National Stock Market Competitions

These friendly competitions between chapters will be run from a free website, MarketWatch. Each competing team will receive $1,000,000 to invest as they see fit. At the end of the competition, the team whose portfolio has the highest returns will win.

We will be running two competitions in parallel. Both competitions will start on Wednesday, October 2, and end on Monday, November 4, at 4:00 PM EST. Winners will be announced the week after the games close.

The first competition is free to play, so we encourage as many chapters to participate as possible. This is a great opportunity to have internal investing groups compete against other chapters, allow members interested in financial markets and investing to get some experience trading, or even let your pledge class participate and learn about investing in a hands-on experience.

The second competition will require a buy-in to participate. At the end of the competition, the winning chapter will donate all buy-ins to the charitable organization of their choosing! The buy-in for the competition will be $50 per chapter.

How To Participate

For the free competition, click the link below, click the Join Game button, and enter the password to start participating in the game. To participate, you will need to create an account. Please create an account using your chapter’s name so that we can track winners by chapter. For example, the Alpha Iota chapter would create an account with First Name = Alpha and Last Name = Iota.
